Green-Schools

As a proud and long established 'Green-School', we have made significant strides in promoting sustainability and environmental consciousness. With five flags already under our belt, including Litter and Waste 2010/2011, Energy 2012/2013, Water 2014/2015, Travel 2016/2017, and Biodiversity 2018/2019, we are now diligently working towards achieving our sixth flag: Global Citizenship - Litter and Waste.

This next flag will represents our dedication to fostering a sense of global responsibility among our pupils and inspiring them to be environmentally conscious citizens of the world. 

Through engaging educational programmes, interactive workshops, and community initiatives, we aim to educate our pupils about the impact of litter and waste on the environment and human health. We wish to empower them to take action by promoting sustainable waste management practices, encouraging recycling and up-cycling, and minimising single-use items.

By looking at global citizenship, we can nurture a sense of empathy and responsibility towards our planet and all its inhabitants. We encourage our pupils to think globally and act locally, understanding that their choices and actions can have a ripple effect on a larger scale.

In aspiring to achieve the flag for Global Citizenship - Litter and Waste, we aim to continue to create a generation of environmentally conscious leaders who will drive positive change, not just within our school, but also in their communities and beyond.

Our aim is to look at our school population and celebrate all the different nationalities we have represented within our school community, to develop awareness of all environmental issues and to learn about possible solutions.

Together, we can make a difference and contribute to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future for all.
