Welcome to St Mary's Autism Class!
St. Mary's has an Autism Class (primary) specifically catering for the needs of primary age children with a diagnosis of autism and a recommendation for placement in a special class. This class opened in 2024, the first special classes in St. Mary's opened in 1994.
We aim to ensure that every child receives the necessary care and attention they deserve in a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Our Autism Class (primary) offers a comprehensive curriculum tailored to meet the individual needs of your child, focusing on their development, social skills and academic progress.
By enrolling your child in our Autism Class, you can be assured that they will receive the highest standard of education and support.
Our class is currently staffed by one teacher and two special needs assistants.
Parents who wish to have their children considered as a candidate for the autism class (primary) should submit an application to the National Council for Special Education (NCSE) at this email address parentsnotify@ncse.ie.
The NCSE will process all applications centrally.
